Sadly, pre-Islamic evil practices still exist today in predominantly Muslim societies and women are still denied their God-given share in Wirasat. Allah (SWT) says in the Qur'an: “For men, there is a share in what their parents and kindred leave behind, and for women a share in what their parents and kindred leave behind, be it little, or be it much: a decreed share”. (Surah An-Nisa 4, verse 7).
